HIT Training celebrate National Apprentice Week with five-course celebration

Specialist training and apprenticeship provider for the hospitality sector, HIT Training, celebrated National Apprenticeship Week in style last week by bringing employers and businesses together to celebrate the positive benefits of apprenticeships.

HIT Lancashire and Cumbria hosted a special celebratory five-course meal at Tullie House Musuem & Art Gallery in Carlisle.

The menu was completely designed, prepared and served by a team of apprentices to showcase their skills and talent to 40 guests made up of employers of local businesses across the region.

The apprentices involved were Eddie Messenger from Lake District Hotels – Lodore Falls near Keswick, Wesley Mattinson from Lake District Hotels – Lodore Falls Hotel near Keswick, Luke Parkinson from Kew Green Hotels – Holliday Inn in Lancaster, Jemma Brown from The Beam & Brycg in Preston, Marie Grufferty from Center Parcs – Whinfell Forrest in Penrith, Stephanie Brade from The Beam & Brycg in Preston, Kimberley Ellwood from The Inn at Brough near Kirkby Stephen and Kristen Pearce from Shearings – The Strathmore Hotel in Morecambe.

Guests enjoyed a welcoming drinks reception, canapés and a five course meal with live music from Lucia Lipscombe. A raffle also took place and £200 was raised for The Springboard Charity.

Samantha Addison, Sector Manager for HIT Training said: “The evening was a huge success and it was brilliant to see so many of our apprentices get involved. They all worked extremely hard, demonstrating the skills they have learnt throughout their training and an obvious passion for hospitality – we are extremely proud of all their achievements.

“We have enjoyed getting involved in National Apprenticeship Week and hope that as a result, more people are aware of the different opportunities available through apprenticeships in the hospitality sector.

“Apprenticeships have a vital role to play in training the next generation of chefs and hospitality employees. By hosting the evening, we hope to offer more business leaders the opportunity to see how investing in training and development will be beneficial for both their employees and their businesses.”
