Lesley Bennison was a Physiotherapist and acupuncturist working for the NHS but also headed up the charity CHEMO MUMS who organised volunteers to help mums look after their children whilst going through treatment. During her career she was invited to Highgrove and to St James Palace where she was recognised by Prince Charles for her work in alternative medicine.
On Saturday 28th September, which would have been Lesley’s 59th birthday the boys have decided they would like to do something to keep their mum’s memory alive and raise funds for the hospital who looked after her during her illness.
On Friday 27th September, they will be taking on the grueling challenge of an 80 mile cycle ride from Bolton to the Lake District in memory of their beloved Mum along with her sister Tracey and niece Laura, they are also joined by partners and friends.
We are aiming to raise £5k for The Christie Cancer Appeal Fund to thank the hospital for everything they did for Lesley whilst she endured many years of treatment. Unfortunately, Christie’s couldn’t save Lesley, but they did give her another 13 years to watch her family grow.
Humble Food For Life are proud to be sponsoring the team as they undergo the long ride up to Lesley’s favourite spot in the Lake District. Keep an eye out on Humble’s social media to follow the ride and to donate towards their £5K goal. @humblefoodforlife
