John Watt & Son support UK Coffee Week

Carlisle-based independent coffee roasters, John Watt & Son are supporting UK Coffee Week for the fourth year running.

UK Coffee Week is a nationwide fundraising initiative that supports coffee growing countries through the vibrancy of coffee culture. All funds raised during the week go directly towards Project Waterfall to bring clean water and sanitation to coffee growing communities.

Their mission is to create a united platform where coffee operators, trade professionals and consumers can join together in celebration of the coffee industry and raise funds to give back to the communities which grow our coffee.

100% of funds raised during UK Coffee Week go directly to Project Waterfall, bringing clean water and sanitation to coffee growing communities across the developing world.

The majority of the world’s coffee is grown in the ‘bean belt’ where access to clean water and sanitation is scarce.

UK Coffee Week is a nationwide celebration of coffee which raises valuable funds for Project Waterfall. Along with Coffee shops across the country, two of John Watt & Son cafes in Carlisle; Bank St and Blackfriars St. are taking part.

At Bank St. Coffee House, customers can do a quiz for £1 (ask any member of staff) which has coffee oriented questions and the prize is a choice between a Coffee Roasting Experience or a hamper, they can either fill it in whilst they enjoy a coffee or food or take home to return by the 10th of May.

At their Blackfriars Roastery, they will be donating 10 pence from every cup of coffee sold during UK Coffee Week.

John Watt & Son is one of only 2 Coffee shops in Carlisle supporting this initiative and the only independent one.
