Manchester pub becomes first in UK to offer personalised Guinness

As part of a recent major refurbishment, Waxy O’Connor’s has teamed up with Guinness with an innovative trial for the UK’s first ‘Ripple Maker’.

The Ripple Maker PM is a beverage-top media device by Ripple that uses 100% natural extracts to print any message or beautiful high-resolution image on foam-topped drinks. It’s a fun way for Waxy O’Connor’s to communicate with consumers and keep them coming back for more.

Ripple had previously partnered with Guinness at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin but this is the first time the device is being used in a pub environment in the UK.

Waxy O’Connor’s is a renowned Irish bar that opened nearly 18 years ago and is located on Corporation Street in Manchester just opposite Victoria Train Station. The venue has a warren of several bars and 9 different areas spread across three levels.  Famed for it’s amazing live music, great craic and serving more pints of Guinness in Manchester than any other venue, it proves very popular with locals, commuters and tourists alike.

Dave Molloy GM for Waxy O’Connor’s Manchester commented: “This new machine enables a photograph to be produced onto the froth in a pint of Guinness or indeed an Irish coffee if you fancy that too. So far logos and customer selfies are proving popular with many people opting for different designs on each pint.

“The Ripple machine is proving to be such a hit that we are now installing them in both Waxy O’Connor’s London and Waxy O’Connor’s Glasgow too so our customers can enjoy an enhanced Wonder of Waxy’s all over the UK.”
