Fika North, a new Swedish-inspired coffee shop, has opened its doors in North Leeds, on the corner of Otley Road and Weetwood Lane in Headingley.
The venture is the first solo one for husband and wife team Gemma and Elis Williams, who interestingly, previously spent eight years working in the super yacht sector.
All of the ingredients and products will be sourced locally from environmentally responsible suppliers, and the venue will also be serving guest craft ales on draught and organic wine.
Gemma Williams, owner of Fika North, commented: “Identity is very important for us. We’re proud to live, and have built a life, in Yorkshire and we wanted Fika North to reflect that passion. We also love the idea of the ritual and importance of coffee.
“We want our customers to feel comfortable enough to take time out to enjoy that ritual with family, friends, colleagues or classmates.
“The idea is that Fika North will become as embedded in the community as the Yorkshire stone from which the building is made.”
