Roberts Bakery has used drones to showcase its ‘revolutionary’ new sustainable paper bread bags.
A campaign in Cheshire saw the drones take to the sky as they flew the company’s most popular 800g loaves and performed an acrobatic display.
The drones, which were dubbed ‘The Bread Arrows’ by the bakery, then delivered the loaves to a range of plastic free campaigners throughout the area.
Loaves in the sustainable bags – which reduce plastic by 53% compared to the nakery’s previous bags – will be available in 300 Tesco stores throughout the country,
The firm’s Managing Director Stuart Spencer-Calnan, said: “Roberts mission is to become Britain’s next generation bakery and the next part of our journey is rising up against plastic with our revolutionary new paper bag.
“The bag is made from sustainably sourced paper with a very thin poly prop coating to ensure that the loaves stay fabulously fresh.
Spencer-Calnan continued “The bag can be easily recycled from home, juts pop it in the paper or mixed recycling bin. We’ve acted quickly, and this is the next step to deliver our 100% plastic free packaging.
“Our new packaging is available exclusively in selected Tesco stores. Join us and rise up against plastic.”
