Back in July 2016, Robinsons Brewery announced a new fundraising campaign called ‘Dizzy Donates’; which saw the 180-year-old brewery, situated in Stockport, pledge 5 pence from every pint of Dizzy Blonde ale sold during July and August 2016 to charity. Dizzy Donates continued into 2017 and 2018 and it has been announced that the campaign has raised a grand total of £18k.
Robinsons have donated a substantial amount to Help for Heroes – the British charity that provides recovery and support for the Armed Forces community whose lives are affected by their service – after partnering with them in 2017. However, the ‘Dizzy Donates’ campaign was open to any charity of the pub’s choice, and in its third year raised £6k for over 50 nominated charities.
Gill Yates, Brand Manager for Robinsons Brewery, commented: “We are pleased that the campaign has continued to be a success over the years. 5p might not seem like much but all the pints add up and help to make a real difference – 118,000 pints of Dizzy were sold in 2018’s campaign. 100% of the funds raised have been donated from the participating pubs to the numerous charities involved; all of whose work is truly exceptional in serving specific needs and truly making a difference. This campaign has given new meaning to ‘responsible drinking’ and we are honoured to raise a pint in celebration of everyone’s generous support. Thank you for drinking Dizzy Blonde and thank you for supporting such worthwhile causes.”
Dizzy Blonde is fresh, exciting and full of zest – and is ideally pitched to tap into the current trend towards lighter golden hoppy beers. If you’re searching for a vibrant ale with aromatic Amarillo hops – a pint of Dizzy Blonde (or two) is sure to satisfy the taste buds.
