Important information from Booths

Booths, the family owned independent food retailer, have introduced several new initiatives to support both colleagues and customers in the recent crisis.

Booths are changing their opening hours to introduce two dedicated NHS and key workers shopping hours both morning and evening:

To help our colleagues better serve customers and local communities; Booths are changing their opening hours to accommodate NHS and emergency services shopping hours as well at the vulnerable and elderly.

From tomorrow Booths will be open from 8am to 8pm daily. (8am-7pm Chorley & Kendal only)

Sunday Hours 10-4pm (11-5pm Media City) *first hour for browsing 

7-8am shopping hour dedicated to NHS teams, teachers, social workers and the emergency services.

9:30am – 11am shopping time dedicated for the elderly, vulnerable or at-risk groups

11am-8pm shopping open to general public

8-9pm Evening shopping hour for NHS teams, teachers, social workers and the emergency services.

Share the Shopping and pay over the telephone:

In order to support some of our more vulnerable customers, from today, Booths are introducing the ability to take payment over the telephone. This will allow those who are sending friends, neighbours or relatives to shop for them to pay for the shopping remotely. 

Please make your way to the clearly marked checkout in store, where an assistant will scan through the shopping then place a call for the shopping to be paid for over the telephone.

Please note, there is a £100 spend limit in place on this service.

Fulwood Booths Café open NHS and emergency services workers (takeaway only):

From Monday 23rd March our Fulwood store café will open as a takeaway service for NHS, police, fire services, army personnel and social care workers. We’ll be open from 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday offering: 

  • 15% discount on all food
  • Half price hot drinks
  • A free hot drink with purchase of a bacon or sausage roll (if you have any dietary requirements please ask and we’ll do our best to accommodate them)

Between 12pm and 3pm, choose any Booths ready meal from the fridges in store, which will be heated up for you and popped in a takeaway box. Simply show your ID to our colleague at the café counter.

Booths would like to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to all the front-line care providers for your hard work and dedication, we really appreciate you all.

The health of our community, customers and colleagues is extremely important to us, so we’re asking for a little help from you to keep everyone safe and fed.

If you can do a few simple things for us when coming into your stores to ensure everyone’s safety, we’d be very grateful:  

  • Buy only what you need – we’re replenishing regularly
  • Use card or contactless payments where possible
  • Keep your distance from others in queues and whilst browsing the store
  • Wash your hands regularly or use sanitiser and avoid touching your face
  • Please treat our colleagues with kindness and respect

Just as a reminder, we’d like to encourage you to shop outside of 9.30am – 11am Monday to Friday to allow our vulnerable and elderly customers priority to shop. We will not be policing this or turning anyone away, it’s simply an appeal to our customers to help us look after our community at this difficult time.
